Laws § 324.74103","heading":"Powers of department; land acquisition and improvement program.","body":"Sec. 74103.\n\nIn implementing the responsibilities under this part, the department may do 1 or more of the following:\n\nEnter into contracts or agreements that may be necessary to implement this part.\n\nLease state park property to a person.\n\nAccept gifts, grants, or bequests from any public or private source to be used for a purpose consistent with this part.\n\nAcquire property for designation as a state park.\n\nProvide the granting of concessions to a person within the boundaries of a state park. In granting a concession, the department shall provide that each concession is awarded at least every 7 years based on extension, renegotiation, or competitive bidding.\n\nThe department may acquire land and undertake an improvement program for state parks, pursuant to the powers, rights, and privileges conferred by this part, but land acquisition or an improvement program shall not be undertaken until approved by the legislature in the annual capital outlay appropriation act.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-74103","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"0588ef56b1b2a9d5ef7757f404877c4cd2273d4245097f2576b77e66d06c451b","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.74102b","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.74103a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
