Laws § 324.80148","heading":"Operating motorboat at more than slow-no wake speed; prohibitions; exceptions.","body":"Sec. 80148.\n\nSubject to the exceptions described in subsection (2), a person shall not operate a motorboat at more than slow-no wake speed if any of the following circumstances exist:\n\nA person is located on or in the bow of the motorboat, and that motorboat is not manufactured to provide bow seating.\n\nA person or a portion of a person's body extends beyond the exterior port or starboard walls of the hull of the motorboat.\n\nThis section does not apply to either of the following:\n\nA person engaged in the operation of a sailboat that is not being powered by a motor.\n\nA person on board a vessel who is attempting to anchor, moor, dock, or otherwise secure the vessel.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-80148","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"5c32d067dec4f4770e26e91c2902aeae2e588d99c0296e09c513306519f082ff","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.80147","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.80149"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
