Laws § 324.8202","heading":"Conservation programs; establishment; purpose; coordination with departments of natural resources and environmental quality.","body":"Sec. 8202.\n\nThe department may establish conservation programs designed to encourage the voluntary use of conservation practices in the state.\n\nIn implementing the conservation programs established under this part, the department, in coordination with the departments of natural resources and environmental quality, may do 1 or more of the following:\n\nEnter into contracts with 1 or more persons for the implementation of conservation practices on his or her land.\n\nEnter into contracts or other agreements with 1 or more persons to administer or promote conservation programs, or to implement conservation practices.\n\nProvide payments, financial incentives, or, upon verification of the implementation of conservation practices, reimbursement for rental payments or for costs of conservation practice implementation, or both.\n\nPromote the use of conservation practices.\n\nRecognize and provide awards for persons who have implemented conservation practices.\n\nMonitor and verify compliance with conservation plans.\n\nEnforce contracts or other agreements entered into under this part.\n\nTerminate contracts or other agreements entered into under this part in accord with terms established in the contract or other agreement.\n\nIn carrying out its responsibilities under this part, the department shall coordinate with the departments of natural resources and environmental quality and other applicable partners.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-8202","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"5a58980a92789dd0fcab3feb953d836f76dff98b6466c38dd1020fe97fde8b70","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.8201","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.8203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
