Laws § 324.8803","heading":"Grant awards; criteria for project selection.","body":"Sec. 8803.\n\nIn selecting projects for a grant award, the department shall consider the following as they relate to a project:\n\nThe expectation for long-term water quality improvement.\n\nThe expectation for long-term protection of high quality waters.\n\nThe consistency of the project with remedial action plans and other regional water quality or watershed management plans approved by the department.\n\nThe placement of the watershed on the list of impaired waters pursuant to section 303(d) of title III of the federal water pollution control act, chapter 758, 86 Stat. 846, 33 U.S.C. 1313.\n\nCommitments for financial and technical assistance from the partners in the project.\n\nFinancial and other resource contributions, including in-kind services, by project participants in excess of that required in section 8802(4).\n\nThe length of time the applicant has committed to maintain the physical improvements.\n\nThe commitment to provide monitoring to document improvement in water quality or the reduction of pollutant loads.\n\nWhether the project provides benefits to sources of drinking water.\n\nOther information the department considers relevant.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-8803","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"290bd69f8100209ce3d8232d5dc09aec9a9d5633ae02ea10797dbd72786261ec","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.8802","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.8804"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
