Laws § 330.1234","heading":"Services program; review of proposed contract and operating budget; criteria.","body":"Sec. 234.\n\nIn reviewing a community mental health services program's proposed contract and operating budget for the purpose of approval or disapproval, in whole or in part, or in making an allocation of state appropriated funds to a community mental health services program, the department shall consider:\n\nThe state's mental health needs.\n\nThe annual plan and needs assessment of the community mental health services program.\n\nThe state's need for a reasonable degree of statewide standardization and control of services.\n\nThe community mental health services program's need for a reasonable degree of flexibility and freedom to design, staff, and administer services in a manner that the program considers appropriate to its situation.\n\nThe community mental health services program's need for a reasonable expectation that services meeting an essential mental health need and that are appropriately designed and executed will receive continuing state financial support within the constraint of state funds actually appropriated by the legislature.\n\nThe demonstrated relevancy, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the community mental health services program's services.\n\nThe adequacy of the community mental health services program's accounting for the expenditure of state funds.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 330","Act Act-258-of-1974"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-330-1234","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"704006bf6cc911791bee3ed28ae1fa6bafe58f1cf787204702a9c1f2e25ce26d","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1232b","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1236"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
