Laws § 330.1498b","heading":"Definitions; C to M.","body":"Sec. 498b.\n\nAs used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise:\n\n\"Court\" means the probate court or the court with responsibility with regard to mental health services for the county in which a minor who has requested hospitalization, for whom a request for hospitalization has been made, or who has been hospitalized pursuant to this chapter either resides or was found.\n\n\"Minor requiring treatment\" means either of the following:\n\nA minor with a substantial disorder of thought or mood that significantly impairs judgment, behavior, capacity to recognize reality, or ability to cope with the ordinary demands of life.\n\nA minor having a severe or persistent emotional condition characterized by seriously impaired personality development, individual adjustment, social adjustment, or emotional growth, which is demonstrated in behavior symptomatic of that impairment.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 330","Act Act-258-of-1974"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-330-1498b","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"3290e585f2668d54def2555fbf7cf60d8c1059b74daf698ad94ad5b9dd7d13fa","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1498a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1498c"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
