Laws § 330.1498c","heading":"Definitions; P to S.","body":"Sec. 498c.\n\nAs used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise:\n\n\"Person in loco parentis\" means a person who is not the parent or guardian of a minor, but who has either legal custody of a minor or physical custody of a minor and is providing support and care for the minor.\n\n\"Suitable for hospitalization\" means a determination concerning a minor that all of the following criteria are met:\n\nThe minor is a minor requiring treatment.\n\nThe minor is in need of hospitalization and is expected to benefit from hospitalization.\n\nAn appropriate, less restrictive alternative to hospitalization is not available.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 330","Act Act-258-of-1974"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-330-1498c","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2852bd674049eab23318e4d6c5cca898f94abb3eaf934926a9ac6289bcdb2dac","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1498b","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1498d"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
