Laws § 330.1704","heading":"Rights of recipient.","body":"Sec. 704.\n\nIn addition to the rights, benefits, and privileges guaranteed by other provisions of law, the state constitution of 1963, and the constitution of the United States, a recipient of mental health services shall have the rights guaranteed by this chapter unless otherwise restricted by law.\n\nThe rights enumerated in this chapter shall not be construed to replace or limit any other rights, benefits, or privileges of a recipient of services including the right to treatment by spiritual means if requested by the recipient, parent, or guardian.\n\nThe provisions of this chapter shall be construed to protect and promote the dignity and respect to which a recipient of services is entitled.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 330","Act Act-258-of-1974"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-330-1704","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"7b3c8aa3c655de23832ac06ab6ab4741d1be4b1c4e5e166d4380732632e22ee0","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1702","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.1705"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
