Laws § 330.2001b","heading":"Definitions; P to S.","body":"Sec. 1001b.\n\n\"Place of detention\" means a detention facility operated by a political subdivision of the state.\n\n\"Prisoner\" means a person confined in a state correctional facility, but does not include any of the following:\n\nA person confined pursuant to an order of a juvenile division of the probate court or the family division of circuit court.\n\nA person confined in a place of detention.\n\nA person who is on parole from a state correctional facility.\n\n\"Protective environment\" means an environment that supports mental health services in accordance with a prisoner's individual plan of services.\n\n\"State correctional facility\" means a facility that houses prisoners and is operated by the department of corrections, and also includes a youth correctional facility operated by the department of corrections or a private vendor under section 20g of 1953 PA 232, MCL 791.220g.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 330","Act Act-258-of-1974"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-330-2001b","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"1ba0073d590dfbca6793aecd01250d6bb41bab4afb35da16aabccc0fbde18f28","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.2001a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-330.2002a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
