Laws § 333.13829","heading":"Medical waste emergency response fund; creation; deposits; investments; interest and earnings; no reversion to general fund; use of fund.","body":"Sec. 13829.\n\nThe medical waste emergency response fund is created in the state treasury.\n\nThe state treasurer shall deposit in the fund all money received pursuant to this act and all money received by the fund as otherwise provided by law.\n\nThe state treasurer shall direct the investment of the fund. Interest and earnings of the fund shall be credited to the fund. Money in the fund at the close of the fiscal year shall remain in the fund and shall not revert to the general fund.\n\nNot more than 80% of the total amount in the fund shall be used by the department of public health for administrative expenses related to the implementation of this part, and the balance may be used by the department of natural resources for response activities necessitated by the release of medical waste into the environment.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-13829","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"ae6cca7f710a9fe1687253f1405d80b8eb0dc6d9f7ec6b9170267fc9ca780754","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.13827","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.13830"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
