Laws § 333.13831","heading":"Violation; administrative fine; failure to register or have plan available for inspection; injunction.","body":"Sec. 13831.\n\nExcept as provided in subsection (2), a person who violates this part or a rule promulgated under this part is subject to an administrative fine of not more than $2,500.00 for each violation and an additional fine of not more than $1,000.00 for each day during which the violation continues. For a first offense, the department of public health or the department of natural resources may postpone the levying of a fine under this subsection for not more than 45 days or until the violation is corrected, whichever occurs first.\n\nA person who fails to register with the department or have a medical waste management plan available for inspection in compliance with sections 13813 and 13817 is subject to an administrative fine of $500.00.\n\nA person who violates this act may be enjoined by a court of competent jurisdiction from continuing the violation.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-13831","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"848fc87fd684290829489ccd580fd7a45818fa6ebb16758a72d4c458ab9afb48","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.13830","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.13832"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
