Laws § 333.16228","heading":"Prescription of controlled substance; investigation; ad hoc review panel.","body":"Sec. 16228.\n\nFor an investigation involving the prescription of a controlled substance, the department may establish an ad hoc review panel to provide the department with expert information regarding a specific health profession or health specialty or a specific health care treatment or procedure as it relates to the investigation. The department shall establish an ad hoc review panel under this subsection as follows:\n\nThe department shall triennially establish a pool of 10 physicians, 5 of whom are allopathic physicians licensed under part 170 and 5 of whom are osteopathic physicians licensed under part 175.\n\nFor each ad hoc review panel, the department shall appoint 3 physicians from the pool established under subdivision (a).\n\nThe ad hoc review panel shall provide the information described in subsection (1) to the department during the investigation process and before a formal complaint is issued.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-16228","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"3167be6b586a8d238823ec005adb273eeb41addfbfd81c8b0acf4d2cc4ae8a9f","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.16227","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.16231"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
