Laws § 333.16276a","heading":"Medical exfoliation procedures; supervision of licensed physician required; knowledge and consent required.","body":"Sec. 16276a.\n\n(1) A licensee, registrant, or other individual shall not perform a medical exfoliation procedure unless the procedure is performed under the supervision of a licensed physician.\n\n(2) A licensee, registrant, or other individual shall not perform a medical exfoliation procedure unless the patient has knowledge and consents to the procedure being performed by that licensee, registrant, or individual.\n\n(3) Subsection (1) does not apply to a licensed physician.\n\n(4) As used in this section, \"medical exfoliation procedure\" means a procedure exfoliating the skin cells of an individual in the layers of epidermis below the stratum corneum by dermaplaning or microdermabrasion.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-16276a","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"c1f8d154aa5d3e5e3810039737e6c476300ec69baf86d6d3c7a0466348faf1a5","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.16276","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.16277"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
