Laws § 333.16299","heading":"Violation as misdemeanor; penalties; exception.","body":"Sec. 16299.\n\n(1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (2), a person who violates or aids or abets another in a violation of this article, other than those matters described in sections 16294 and 16296, is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable as follows:\n\n(a) For the first offense, by imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a fine of not more than $100.00, or both.\n\n(b) For the second or subsequent offense, by imprisonment for not more than 6 months or a fine of not less than $200.00 nor more than $500.00, or both.\n\n(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to a violation of section 17015, 17015a, or 17515 or to a violation of this article for which another criminal penalty is specifically prescribed.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-16299","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"82503c64504d368faad33c3426f7c4b6b30b835ff9813eecd6e840bd58bffdc7","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.16296","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.16301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
