Laws § 333.18518","heading":"Training requirements; rules.","body":"Sec. 18518.\n\nThe department shall promulgate rules regarding the minimum training requirements for the practice of social work at the bachelor's level and for the practice of social work at the master's level.\n\nThe rules regarding the practice of social work at the master's level shall distinguish between the training, education, and experience requirements relative to the social work applications described in section 18501(g)( ii ) and ( iii ). The training, education, and experience requirements for the applications described in section 18501(g)( iii ) shall include at least the following:\n\nPossession of a master's degree in social work.\n\nCompletion of course work in normal human development and diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of individuals, couples, families, and groups, using a variety of psychotherapeutic methods or techniques.\n\nCompletion of not less than 2 years of supervised post-master's degree clinical experience.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-18518","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4838124afba183dd5cf2726ce6d16294ef8f39bdc9d7813790538fe2fd3b2b92","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.18517","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.18701"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
