Laws § 333.20197","heading":"Human cloning in facility owned or operated by health facility or agency.","body":"Sec. 20197.\n\nA health facility or agency shall not allow a licensee or registrant under article 15 or any other individual to engage in or attempt to engage in human cloning in a facility owned or operated by the health facility or agency.\n\nSubsection (1) does not prohibit a health facility or agency from allowing a licensee or registrant under article 15 or any other individual from engaging in scientific research or cell-based therapies not specifically prohibited by that subsection.\n\nA health facility or agency that violates subsection (1) is subject to the administrative penalties prescribed in section 20165(4).\n\nThis section does not give a person a private right of action.\n\nAs used in this section, \"human cloning\" means that term as defined in section 16274.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-20197","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"3fa8d35fd2bbad5b06a62183e582fa6b4ac5abc2a7b93863b8d0145c31e90040","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.20194","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.20198"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
