Laws § 333.20916","heading":"State emergency medical services coordination committee; duties.","body":"Sec. 20916.\n\nThe state emergency medical services coordination committee created in section 20915 shall do all of the following:\n\nMeet not less than twice annually at the call of the chairperson or the director.\n\nProvide for the coordination and exchange of information on emergency medical services programs and services.\n\nAct as liaison between organizations and individuals involved in the emergency medical services system.\n\nMake recommendations to the department in the development of a comprehensive statewide emergency medical services program.\n\nAdvise the legislature and the department on matters concerning emergency medical services throughout the state.\n\nIssue opinions on appeals of medical control authority decisions under section 20919 and make recommendations based on those opinions to the department for the resolution of those appeals.\n\nParticipate in educational activities, special studies, and the evaluation of emergency medical services as requested by the director.\n\nAdvise the department concerning vehicle standards for ambulances.\n\nAdvise the department concerning minimum patient care equipment lists.\n\nAdvise the department on the standards required under section 20910(1)(f).\n\nAppoint, with the advice and consent of the department, a statewide quality assurance task force to review and make recommendations to the department concerning approval of medical control authority applications and revisions concerning protocols under section 20919 and field studies under section 20910(1)(h), and conduct other quality assurance activities as requested by the director. A majority of the members of the task force shall be individuals who are not currently serving on the committee. The task force shall report its decisions, findings, and recommendations to the committee and the department.\n\nAdvise the department concerning requirements for curriculum changes for emergency medical services educational programs.\n\nAdvise the department on minimum standards that each life support agency must meet for licensure under this part.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-20916","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"368cd55adf405eede5fae866f03b0c59cdbbb9901690a69087f47be5869b0e8a","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.20915","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.20917a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
