Laws § 333.21792","heading":"Commission, bonus, fee, or gratuity; violation; penalty.","body":"Sec. 21792.\n\nAn owner, administrator, employee, or representative of a nursing home shall not pay, or offer to pay, a commission, bonus, fee, or gratuity to a physician, surgeon, organization, agency, or other person for the referral of a patient to a nursing home.\n\nA person shall not offer or give a commission, bonus, fee, or gratuity to an owner, administrator, employee, or representative of a nursing home in return for the purchase of a drug, biological, or any other ancillary services provided for a patient of a nursing home.\n\nAn owner, administrator, employee, or representative of a nursing home shall not accept a commission, bonus, fee, or gratuity in return for the purchase of a drug, biological, or any other ancillary services provided for a patient of a nursing home.\n\nA person who violates this section is guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment for not more than 4 years, or a fine of not more than $30,000.00, or both.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-21792","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"89a6c579b2b8efad5b9ccf24752838cbc3205ca27f1a6c74174c944ebfcb821c","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.21791","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.21794"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
