Laws § 333.21799d","heading":"Collection of civil penalty; noncompliance; order.","body":"Sec. 21799d.\n\nA civil penalty assessed under this part shall be collected by the department. If the person or nursing home against whom a civil penalty has been assessed does not comply with a written demand for payment within 30 days, the department shall issue an order to do 1 of the following:\n\nDirect the department of treasury to deduct the amount of the civil penalty from amounts otherwise due from the state to the nursing home and remit that amount to the department.\n\nAdd the amount of the civil penalty to the nursing home's licensing fee.
