Laws § 333.26101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nAs used in this act:\n\n(a) A state interest is \"compelling\" as that term is described in section 28 of article I of the state constitution of 1963.\n\n(b) \"Fetal viability\" means that term as defined in section 28 of article I of the state constitution of 1963.\n\n(c) \"Governmental entity\" means any of the following:\n\n( i ) This state and its agencies, departments, commissions, courts, boards, councils, and statutorily created task forces.\n\n( ii ) A county, city, village, township, school district, or other political subdivision of this state.\n\n( iii ) An agency, department, court, board, commission, or council of a political subdivision described in subparagraph ( ii ).\n\n( iv ) An official of any of the entities described in subparagraph ( i ), ( ii ), or ( iii ).","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-286-of-2023"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-26101","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"f2313fff72e5f3e284801c50d02d66ef7f74e44653063ca198683725b6deadf5","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.27904","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.26103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
