Laws § 333.29801.added","heading":"Colleges or universities; growing of industrial hemp for research; requirements; \"college or university\" defined.","body":"Sec. 801.\n\n(1) A college or university that grows industrial hemp for the purpose of conducting research shall do all of the following:\n\n(a) Register as a grower under chapter II.\n\n(b) Collect samples of each lot of industrial hemp and complete a total delta-9-THC test as required under chapter IV. If the college or university adopts alternative methods for collecting a sample and completing a total delta-9-THC test, the college or university does not have to comply with the requirements of chapter IV. A total delta-9-THC test conducted under this subdivision must achieve a confidence level of 95% with respect to the acceptable THC level.\n\n(c) Dispose of noncompliant industrial hemp under section 407.\n\n(2) As used in this section, \"college or university\" means a college or university described in section 4, 5, or 6 of article VIII of the state constitution of 1963 or a junior college or community college described in section 7 of article VIII of the state constitution of 1963.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-220-of-2020"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-29801-added","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"6741d9f0a22b6379a8b5146ae6acc9ae2c3c7af894d03d91c8cddc76c2ac2a2c","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.29609","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.26311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
