Laws § 333.5471","heading":"Training program or refresher courses; fees.","body":"Sec. 5471.\n\n(1) Subject to subsection (7), fees for a person accredited or seeking accreditation for a training program offering courses or refresher courses in lead-based paint abatement are as follows:\n\n(a) Initial application processing fee $ 100.00. (b) Initial accreditation fee $475.00 per discipline. (c) Reaccreditation fee, annual $265.00 per discipline.\n\n(a)\n\nInitial application processing fee\n\n$\n\n100.00.\n\n(b)\n\nInitial accreditation fee\n\n$475.00 per discipline.\n\n(c)\n\nReaccreditation fee, annual\n\n$265.00 per discipline.\n\n(2) Fees for an individual certified or seeking certification to engage in lead-based paint abatement are as follows:\n\n(a) Initial application processing fee $ 25.00. (b) Certification fee, per year: ( i ) Inspector $ 150.00. ( ii ) Risk assessor $ 150.00. ( iii ) Supervisor $ 50.00. ( iv ) Project designer $ 150.00. ( v ) Abatement worker/laborer $ 25.00. ( vi ) Clearance technician $ 50.00.\n\n(a)\n\nInitial application processing fee\n\n$\n\n25.00.\n\n(b)\n\nCertification fee, per year:\n\n( i )\n\nInspector\n\n$\n\n150.00.\n\n( ii )\n\nRisk assessor\n\n$\n\n150.00.\n\n( iii )\n\nSupervisor\n\n$\n\n50.00.\n\n( iv )\n\nProject designer\n\n$\n\n150.00.\n\n( v )\n\nAbatement worker/laborer\n\n$\n\n25.00.\n\n( vi )\n\nClearance technician\n\n$\n\n50.00.\n\n(3) Fees for a person certified or seeking certification to engage in lead-based paint abatement are as follows:\n\n(a) Initial application processing fee $ 100.00. (b) Certification fee, per year $ 220.00.\n\n(a)\n\nInitial application processing fee\n\n$\n\n100.00.\n\n(b)\n\nCertification fee, per year\n\n$\n\n220.00.\n\n(4) If the department increases fees under subsection (5), the increase shall be effective for that fiscal year. The increased fees shall be used by the department as the basis for calculating fee increases in subsequent fiscal years.\n\n(5) By August 1 of each year, the department shall provide to the director of the department of management and budget and to the chairpersons of the appropriations committees of the senate and house of representatives a complete schedule of fees to be collected under this section.\n\n(6) The fees imposed under this part shall not exceed the actual cost of administering this part.\n\n(7) The department may waive the fees for an accredited training program for a person who has demonstrated that no part of its net earnings benefit any private shareholder or individual.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-5471","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"152aa371cb6c2da5d272c2f96fb6d2b52a360754d5b2c10e54cded7328414bb5","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.5470","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.5472"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
