Laws § 333.5731","heading":"Agent orange commission; creation; appointment, qualifications, and terms of members; vacancy.","body":"Sec. 5731.\n\nThe agent orange commission is created in the department.\n\nThe commission is composed of 14 members, including all of the following:\n\nOne member is the director, or his or her designee.\n\nOne member is the attorney general, or his or her designee.\n\nThe remaining members shall be appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, as follows:\n\nOne member shall be a representative of the Michigan veterans trust fund.\n\nFour members shall be researchers who are experts in the fields of cytogenetic evaluations, birth defects, immunological studies, neurological studies, toxicology, oncology, or other fields relevant to the purposes of this part whose knowledge may contribute to the implementation of this part.\n\nFive members shall be Vietnam-era veterans, at least 1 of whom shall be a female Vietnam-era veteran.\n\nTwo members shall represent the general public, 1 of whom shall be appointed from a list of nominees provided by the speaker of the house of representatives, and 1 of whom shall be appointed from a list of nominees provided by the majority leader of the senate.\n\nMembers shall each serve for terms of 2 years, and those members who are appointed may be reappointed once.
