Laws § 333.7543","heading":"Research and enforcement; duties of administrator.","body":"Sec. 7543.\n\nThe administrator shall encourage research on misuse and abuse of controlled substances. In connection with the research and furtherance of the enforcement of this article, the administrator may:\n\nEstablish methods to assess accurately the effects of controlled substances and identify and characterize those with potential for abuse.\n\nMake studies and undertake programs of research to:\n\nDevelop new or improved approaches, techniques, systems, equipment, and devices to strengthen the enforcement of this article.\n\nDetermine patterns of misuse and abuse of controlled substances and the social effects thereof.\n\nImprove methods for preventing, predicting, understanding, and dealing with the misuse and abuse of controlled substances.\n\nEnter into contracts with public agencies, institutions of higher education, and private organizations or individuals for the purpose of conducting research, demonstrations, or special projects which bear directly on misuse and abuse of controlled substances.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-7543","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"ee636eaa2d2554ea6a28895b64b2f00203ba3e5e50150f67189ca4d951c038cd","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.7541","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.7544"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
