Laws § 333.9208","heading":"Certificate of immunization or statement of exemption; presentation to school officials; minimum doses of immunizing agent; updated certificate; annual report.","body":"Sec. 9208.\n\n(1) A parent, guardian, or person in loco parentis applying to have a child registered for the first time in a school in this state and, beginning January 1, 2014, a parent, guardian, or person in loco parentis of a child entering the seventh grade, shall present to school officials, at the time of registration or not later than the first day of school, a certificate of immunization or statement of exemption under section 9215.\n\n(2) A teacher or principal shall not permit a child to enter or attend school unless a certificate indicating that a minimum of 1 dose of an immunizing agent against each of the diseases specified by the department has been received and certified to by a health professional or local health department. A parent, guardian, or person in loco parentis having a child registered with only these minimum doses of immunizing agents shall present an updated certificate of immunization within 4 months after initial attendance showing that the immunizations have been completed as prescribed by the department.\n\n(3) The department annually shall provide a report showing a year-to-year comparison of the percentage of children by age who are immunized appropriately upon entering the seventh grade.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 333","Act Act-368-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-333-9208","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"b7497084f41baed517952101afea1b1147ac041967f433ac09b0e9bc716cd33f","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.9207","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-333.9209"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
