Laws § 338.2237","heading":"Real estate broker, associate broker, salesperson, or branch office; fees; real estate education fund; real estate enforcement fund; creation.","body":"Sec. 37.\n\n(1) Fees for a person licensed or seeking licensure as a real estate broker, associate broker, salesperson, or branch office or seeking other licenses or approvals issued under article 25 of the occupational code, MCL 339.2501 to 339.2518, are as follows:\n\n(a) Application processing fees: ( i ) Brokers and associate brokers as follows: (A) If paid after September 30, 2027 $ 20.00 (B) Beginning October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2027 35.00 ( ii ) Salespersons 10.00 ( iii ) Branch office 10.00 (b) License fees, per year: ( i ) Brokers and associate brokers 36.00 ( ii ) Salespersons 26.00 (c) Branch office fee, per year as follows: ( i ) If paid after September 30, 2027 10.00 ( ii ) Beginning October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2027 20.00 (d) Sale of out of state property: ( i ) Application to sell 20.00 ( ii ) Property registration 500.00 ( iii ) Renewal of approval to sell 20.00\n\n(a)\n\nApplication processing fees:\n\n( i )\n\nBrokers and associate brokers as follows:\n\n(A)\n\nIf paid after September 30, 2027\n\n$\n\n20.00\n\n(B)\n\nBeginning October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2027\n\n35.00\n\n( ii )\n\nSalespersons\n\n10.00\n\n( iii )\n\nBranch office\n\n10.00\n\n(b)\n\nLicense fees, per year:\n\n( i )\n\nBrokers and associate brokers\n\n36.00\n\n( ii )\n\nSalespersons\n\n26.00\n\n(c)\n\nBranch office fee, per year as follows:\n\n( i )\n\nIf paid after September 30, 2027\n\n10.00\n\n( ii )\n\nBeginning October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2027\n\n20.00\n\n(d)\n\nSale of out of state property:\n\n( i )\n\nApplication to sell\n\n20.00\n\n( ii )\n\nProperty registration\n\n500.00\n\n( iii )\n\nRenewal of approval to sell\n\n20.00\n\n(2) The real estate education fund is created in the state treasury. All of the following apply to the real estate education fund:\n\n(a) Fifteen dollars of each license fee received by the department under subsection (1)(b) during that 3-year license cycle must be forwarded to the state treasurer for deposit into the real estate education fund.\n\n(b) The department shall use the money in the real estate education fund only for the operation of departmental programs related to education required of all licensees or applicants for licensure under article 25 of the occupational code, MCL 339.2501 to 339.2518.\n\n(c) The state treasurer shall direct the investment of the fund and shall credit to the fund interest and earnings from fund investments.\n\n(d) Money in the fund at the close of the fiscal year remains in the fund and does not lapse to the general fund.\n\n(e) The department is the administrator of the fund for auditing purposes.\n\n(3) The real estate enforcement fund is created in the state treasury. All of the following apply to the real estate enforcement fund:\n\n(a) Fifteen dollars of each license fee received by the department under subsection (1)(b) during that 3-year license cycle must be forwarded to the state treasurer for deposit into the real estate enforcement fund.\n\n(b) The department in conjunction with the attorney general shall use the money in the real estate enforcement fund only for the investigation and enforcement of actions regarding unlicensed activity and real estate fraud.\n\n(c) The state treasurer shall direct the investment of the fund and shall credit to the fund interest and earnings from fund investments.\n\n(d) Money in the fund at the close of the fiscal year remains in the fund and does not lapse to the general fund.\n\n(e) The department is the administrator of the fund for auditing purposes.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 338","Act Act-152-of-1979"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-338-2237","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4488002ed9cd3070578ae633a965d236170b026267dfb4a1a8772b4e8512b9e0","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-338.2231","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-338.2238"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
