Laws § 338.3381","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nAs used in this act:\n\n(a) \"Asbestos\" means a group of naturally occurring minerals that separate into fibers, including chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, anthophyllite, tremolite, and actinolite.\n\n(b) \"Asbestos abatement contractor\" means a business entity that is licensed under the asbestos abatement contractors licensing act, 1986 PA 135, MCL 338.3101 to 338.3319, and that carries on the business of asbestos abatement on the premises of another and not on the asbestos abatement contractor's premises.\n\n(c) \"Asbestos abatement project\" means any activity involving persons working directly with the demolition, renovation, or encapsulation of friable asbestos materials.\n\n(d) \"Local government\" means a county, city, village, or township.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 338","Act Act-55-of-2024"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-338-3381","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"c683f26052eb5807c3975e74640fb929f3b96e5adc6f78c9331c778925f645a3","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-338.3418","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-338.3383"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
