Laws § 339.2011","heading":"Construction of public work involving architecture or professional engineering; requirements; exception.","body":"Sec. 2011.\n\nExcept as otherwise provided in subsection (2), the state or a county, city, township, village, school district, or other political subdivision of this state shall not engage in the construction of a public work involving the practice of architecture or professional engineering unless all of the following requirements are met:\n\nThe plans and specifications and estimates have been prepared by a licensed architect or licensed professional engineer.\n\nThe review of the materials used and completed phases of construction is made under the direct supervision of a licensed architect or licensed professional engineer.\n\nEach survey of land on which the public work has been or is to be constructed is made under the supervision of a licensed professional surveyor.\n\nThis section does not apply to a public work for which the contemplated expenditure for the completed project is less than $15,000.00.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 339","Act Act-299-of-1980"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-339-2011","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"093fc57dd94436f1d0663a9692b04dfe2ac07474517574d0b058e739b1d65b9a","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-339.2010","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-339.2012"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
