Laws § 339.5301","heading":"Board; composition; membership; qualifications.","body":"Sec. 301.\n\nUnless otherwise provided in a specific article of this act, all of the following apply to a board:\n\n(a) A board shall consist of 9 voting members, as follows:\n\n( i ) Six of the members of a board shall be individuals who have a license or registration in the occupation or occupations that the board monitors.\n\n( ii ) Three members of a board shall represent the general public.\n\n( iii ) The director is an ex officio member without vote of a board, but is not a member for purposes of section 5 of article V of the state constitution of 1963 or for determining a quorum.\n\n(b) A member of a board, in addition to fulfilling the requirements set forth in a specific article, shall be at least 18 years old and a resident of this state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 339","Act Act-407-of-2016"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-339-5301","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"1e6c80d1cb02144c4b7fac2edf429a72138c0b7cf173bdd976a4e22ab7805075","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-339.5223","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-339.5303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
