Laws § 37.232","heading":"Person with control over public accommodation or public service; prohibited conduct.","body":"Sec. 2.\n\nUnless expressly permitted by a state or federal statute or a regulation promulgated under a state or federal statute, a person with control over a place of public accommodation or public service shall not do any of the following:\n\n(a) Deny the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodations of a place of public accommodation or public service to an individual because the individual is breastfeeding a child or is expressing human milk.\n\n(b) Print, circulate, post, mail, or otherwise cause to be published a statement, advertisement, notice, or sign that indicates any of the following:\n\n( i ) That the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodations of a place of public accommodation or public service will be refused, withheld from, or denied an individual because the individual is breastfeeding a child or is expressing human milk.\n\n( ii ) That an individual's patronage of or presence at a place of public accommodation is objectionable, unwelcome, unacceptable, or undesirable because the individual is breastfeeding a child or is expressing human milk.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 37","Act Act-197-of-2014"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-37-232","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"163c3bf50510d75630fbb9d43190c8c047faa24be78f6af6edf90218e5b9b851","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-37.231","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-37.233"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
