Laws § 380.1301","heading":"Pregnant persons; expulsion or exclusion from public school prohibited; withdrawal; alternative educational program or program of special services; rules.","body":"Sec. 1301.\n\nA person who has not completed high school may not be expelled or excluded from a public school because of being pregnant.\n\nA pregnant person who is under the compulsory school age may withdraw from a regular public school program in accordance with rules promulgated by the state board.\n\nThe board of a local or intermediate school district may provide an accredited alternative educational program for school age expectant parents and school age parents and their children, or provide a program of special services within the conventional school setting, or contract with another school district offering the educational program.\n\nThe state board shall promulgate rules to implement this section.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 380","Act Act-451-of-1976"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-380-1301","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"0ca6eab24bcde8d7b5162aa589f3e3245a1eb4e8bf850b4fdb913de3af7f13fc","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-380.1300a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-380.1303a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
