Laws § 380.1903","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 3.\n\nAs used in this act:\n\n(a) \"Bubbler fixture\" means a fixture on a drinking water fountain through which water is forced up in a small arc from a nozzle that allows an individual to drink from the arc directly.\n\n(b) \"Child care center\" means that term as defined in section 1 of 1973 PA 116, MCL 722.111.\n\n(c) \"Department\" means the department of environment, Great Lakes, and energy or its authorized agent or representative.\n\n(d) \"Drinking fountain\" means a plumbing fixture that is connected to the potable water distribution system and drainage system that allows a user to obtain a drink directly from a stream of flowing water without the use of any accessory.\n\n(e) \"Filtered bottle-filling station\" or \"station\" means an apparatus that meets all of the following requirements:\n\n( i ) Is connected to customer site piping.\n\n( ii ) Filters water and is certified to meet NSF/ANSI standard 53 for lead reduction and NSF/ANSI standard 42 for particulate removal.\n\n( iii ) The flow rate through the station is paired to the specified flow rate of the filter cartridge.\n\n( iv ) Has a light or other device to indicate filter cartridge replacement status.\n\n( v ) Is designed to fill drinking bottles or other containers for personal water consumption.\n\n( vi ) Includes a drinking fountain.\n\n(f) \"Filtered faucet\" means a faucet that at the point of use includes a filter that is certified to meet NSF/ANSI standard 53 for lead reduction and NSF/ANSI standard 42 for particulate removal.\n\n(g) \"Fund\" means the school and child care center clean drinking water fund created in section 11.\n\n(h) \"Plan\" means a drinking water management plan created under section 5.\n\n(i) \"School\" means a public school or nonpublic school as those terms are defined in section 5 of the revised school code, 1976 PA 451, MCL 380.5.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 380","Act Act-154-of-2023"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-380-1903","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"a4b414791aa6e3f9e84ba20c39f6b26467e01f5724ccd35abf9ae3d6033c7a65","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-380.1901","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-380.1905"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
