Laws § 399.84","heading":"Commission; duties.","body":"Sec. 4.\n\nThe commission shall do all of the following:\n\nReview, plan, and implement a master plan to promote and preserve the history of the freedom trail and underground railroad in this state.\n\nWork in conjunction with state and federal authorities to sponsor commemorations, linkages, seminars, and public forums on the freedom trail and underground railroad in this state and neighboring states.\n\nAssist and promote the making of applications for inclusion in the national and state register of historic places for significant historic places related to the freedom trail and the underground railroad in Michigan.\n\nAssist and develop partnerships to seek public and private funds to carry out activities to protect, preserve, and promote the legacy of the freedom trail and underground railroad in this state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 399","Act Act-409-of-1998"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-399-84","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4d1a5708343332fb10d5bbcf76074174fd6a05dc2026e63a810b9319f73b8c35","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-399.83","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-399.85"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
