Laws § 4.1301","heading":"Michigan commission on uniform state laws; creation; composition; meetings; purpose; annual report; expenses; continuation of commissioners appointed under former law.","body":"Sec. 301.\n\nThe Michigan commission on uniform state laws is created. The Michigan commission on uniform state laws shall consist of the following:\n\nThree members appointed by the council. Members appointed under this subdivision shall not be members of the legislature.\n\nTwo members appointed by the majority leader of the senate, 1 from the minority party.\n\nTwo members appointed by the speaker of the house, 1 from the minority party.\n\nThe director of the bureau or his or her designee.\n\nThe commissioners may meet and confer with commissioners of other states to bring about uniformity of state laws. The Michigan commission on uniform state laws shall report annually to the council.\n\nThe expenses of the commissioners may be paid from appropriations made to the council upon vouchers approved by the council.\n\nThe commissioners on uniform state laws for this state appointed under former Act No. 412 of the Public Acts of 1965 shall continue in office until commissioners for the Michigan commission on uniform state laws are appointed under this section.
