Laws § 400.1507","heading":"Shelter program; funds for establishment; emergency shelter; services.","body":"Sec. 7.\n\nA prime sponsor may receive funds under this act to establish or maintain a shelter program for victims of domestic violence and their dependent children. Emergency shelter may be provided directly at a facility operated by the prime sponsor or indirectly at transient or residential facilities available in the community. A shelter program shall either provide not less than 3 of the following services or assist the victim in obtaining information and referral services to not less than 3 of the following services:\n\nCrisis and support counseling for victims of domestic violence and their dependent children.\n\nEmergency health care services.\n\nLegal assistance.\n\nFinancial assistance.\n\nHousing assistance.\n\nTransportation assistance.\n\nChild care services.\n\nTo the extent possible, a prime sponsor which establishes a shelter program under this section shall utilize services provided by county community mental health programs established under chapter 2 of Act No. 258 of the Public Acts of 1974, as amended, being sections 330.1200 to 330.1246 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 400","Act Act-389-of-1978"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-400-1507","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"be7dd1bfebb36eda9463eb548a7681b729b3fedcb63310144c9d74a518176ce7","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-400.1506","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-400.1508"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
