Laws § 400.57c","heading":"Application for assistance by minor parent; duties of department.","body":"Sec. 57c.\n\nIf a minor parent applies for family independence program assistance, the department shall do all of the following:\n\n(a) Inform the minor parent of the eligibility requirements of section 57b(2) and the circumstances under which there is good cause for permitting the minor parent to live in an adult-supervised household other than the home of his or her parent or legal guardian.\n\n(b) Complete a home visit or other appropriate investigation before requiring a minor parent to live with his or her parent, stepparent, or legal guardian.\n\n(c) If applicable, assist the minor parent to find an adult-supervised household in which to live.\n\n(d) Inform the minor parent of the requirement to attend school full-time.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 400","Act Act-280-of-1939"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-400-57c","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"bf4fcdd4dd81570bf0b61f3ae0740a7e4c020cde4107a5b5bbb66e851c60523a","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-400.57b","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-400.57d"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
