Laws § 418.206","heading":"Position of hearing referee abolished; powers and duties of worker's compensation magistrates; hearings.","body":"Sec. 206.\n\nThe position of hearing referee under this act is abolished as of March 31, 1987.\n\nOnly worker's compensation magistrates shall hear cases for which an application for a hearing under section 847 has been filed after March 31, 1986 and shall have the powers and perform the duties prescribed in this act.\n\nAny case for which an application for a hearing under section 847 has been filed before April 1, 1986 and which has not been heard by a hearing referee by March 31, 1987 shall be heard by a worker's compensation magistrate according to the law and procedures applicable to cases heard by hearing referees.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 418","Act Act-317-of-1969"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-418-206","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2f8e3775b15439d39b2ba44531294065902f8d90cf7723941d2264194be8f377","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-418.205","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-418.207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
