Laws § 42.11","heading":"Township superintendent; tenure; qualifications; residency requirements; waiver.","body":"Sec. 11.\n\nThe township superintendent shall hold office at the pleasure of the township board and shall be selected by the township board on the basis of training and ability alone, without regard to his or her political or religious preference.\n\nAn individual who is not a resident of the township at the time of his or her appointment as township superintendent shall become a resident of the township within 90 days after his or her appointment and shall so remain throughout his or her tenure of office. An individual who is a resident of the township at the time of his or her appointment as township superintendent shall remain a resident of the township throughout his or her tenure of office.
