Laws § 432.513","heading":"Prohibited conduct; violation; crime; penalties.","body":"Sec. 13.\n\n(1) A person shall not do any of the following:\n\n(a) Except as otherwise provided in section 3, offer a fantasy contest in this state unless the person is licensed by the board.\n\n(b) Knowingly make a false statement on an application for a license to be issued under this act.\n\n(c) Knowingly provide false testimony to the board or any authorized representative of the board while under oath.\n\n(2) The board shall not issue a license under this act to a person that violates subsection (1).\n\n(3) A person who violates subsection (1)(a) is guilty of a crime as follows:\n\n(a) For the first or second violation, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 1 year or a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or both.\n\n(b) For a third or subsequent violation, the person is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years or a fine of not more than $50,000.00, or both.\n\n(4) The board may issue a cease and desist order and obtain injunctive relief against a person that violates this act.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 432","Act Act-157-of-2019"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-432-513","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"3f41c0ed1f231e16ebdb198bfcc9356a686f39e0b9931f13eccf367d0ae23344","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-432.512","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-432.514"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
