Laws § 434.151","heading":"Lost, unclaimed or abandoned personal property in custody of state; application of act.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nThe provisions of this act shall apply to:\n\nPersonal property of patients in state hospitals remaining after the death, discharge, release or escape of the patient and unclaimed by the patient, his or her relatives or heirs or personal or legal representative.\n\nPersonal property of prisoners in state prisons remaining unclaimed after the death, discharge, release or escape of a prisoner and unclaimed by the prisoner, his relatives or heirs, or personal or legal representatives.\n\nPersonal property lost or abandoned by the owners thereof in or on state owned property administered by the department of conservation and turned into the custody of said department.\n\nPersonal property lost or abandoned by the owners thereof in or on other property owned, leased or rented by the state of Michigan for the use of state departments, boards and institutions.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 434","Act Act-238-of-1957"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-434-151","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"bcadc8766cfff2e42ec6d015f06a5ac2f309e05558d8b46f07a71975ae076bb4","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-434.184","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-434.152"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
