Laws § 436.1609h","heading":"Electronic rebate coupons.","body":"Sec. 609h.\n\nA manufacturer or supplier may offer electronic rebate coupons directly to a retail customer after the retail customer purchases alcoholic liquor from a retailer. An electronic rebate coupon issued under this section must comply with all the following:\n\n(a) A manufacturer or supplier shall only issue coupons that state a specific expiration date and specific cash refund value on the coupons. The refund may be paid by cash, by check, by debit card, through electronic funds transfer to a bank account, or through an internet or mobile payment account.\n\n(b) A manufacturer or supplier shall not issue coupons that make any alcoholic liquor free.\n\n(c) A manufacturer or supplier may issue coupons that can be applied to more than 1 specific product sold by that manufacturer or supplier but must state the manufacturer or supplier to which they apply.\n\n(d) A manufacturer or supplier shall issue coupons that require the retail customer to purchase at least 1 product of alcoholic liquor to redeem a coupon. A manufacturer or supplier may issue coupons that require the retail customer to purchase 2 or more alcoholic liquor products from the same manufacturer or supplier to redeem the coupon.\n\n(e) A manufacturer or supplier may issue coupons that require the purchase of a product other than alcoholic liquor.\n\n(f) A wholesaler shall not pay for or participate in the offering of coupons except for providing signs that promote the electronic rebate coupon in accordance with section 610a.\n\n(g) A manufacturer shall only issue coupons that may be redeemable after a purchase of alcoholic liquor at all retail locations where that alcoholic liquor is sold.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 436","Act Act-58-of-1998"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-436-1609h","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"ce755036cade88f920239505a5be436503c835f2f8e794c0abe4a8d2219cd71d","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-436.1609g","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-436.1609i"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
