Laws § 436.1903b","heading":"Payment by means dishonored by financial institution; violation of act; administrative fee.","body":"Sec. 903b.\n\n(1) A retailer violates this act if the retailer or the retailer's clerk, servant, agent, or employee makes a payment to a wholesaler by any means that has been dishonored by a financial institution for any reason.\n\n(2) A wholesaler shall require a retailer that has made a payment to the wholesaler that has been dishonored by a financial institution to pay the wholesaler an administrative fee as follows:\n\n(a) For the first dishonored payment, $50.00.\n\n(b) For a second dishonored payment within 12 months of the first dishonored payment, $100.00.\n\n(c) For a third dishonored payment within 12 months of the first dishonored payment, $150.00.\n\n(d) For a fourth dishonored payment within 12 months of the first dishonored payment, $200.00.\n\n(e) For a fifth or any subsequent dishonored payment within 12 months of the first dishonored payment, $250.00.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 436","Act Act-58-of-1998"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-436-1903b","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"ba071234d2bac29608cf69210b3419aadb74789a376cce7f3e32195bc1d35476","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-436.1903a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-436.1904"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
