Laws § 445.991","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nAs used in this act:\n\n\"Lease contract\" means a contract for the lease of a motor vehicle by a natural person for a term exceeding 30 days.\n\n\"Lessee\" means a natural person who leases a motor vehicle under a lease contract.\n\n\"Lessor\" means a natural person, partnership, corporation, association, or other legal entity that is engaged in the business of leasing, offering to lease, or arranging the lease of a motor vehicle under a lease contract.\n\n\"Motor vehicle\" means a vehicle, including passenger vans and minivans, that is self-propelled, that is capable of being operated on a highway or street in this state, and that is primarily intended for the transport of persons.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 445","Act Act-169-of-1990"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-445-991","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"968a2f41c05257a8fdc8212a966532e97acdaaf5679295322a7fee9309e39fe1","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-445.1864","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-445.992"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
