Laws § 449.6","heading":"Partnership; definition; effect of act as to prior and limited partnerships.","body":"Sec. 6.\n\n(Partnership defined).\n\nA partnership is an association of 2 or more persons, which may consist of husband and wife, to carry on as co-owners a business for profit; any partnership heretofore established consisting of husband and wife only, formed since January 10, 1942 shall constitute a valid partnership.\n\nBut any association formed under any other statute of this state, or any statute adopted by authority, other than the authority of this state, is not a partnership under this act, unless such association would have been a partnership in this state prior to the adoption of this act; but this act shall apply to limited partnerships except in so far as the statutes relating to such partnerships are inconsistent herewith.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 449","Act Act-72-of-1917"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-449-6","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"5b99390454ff6967895cb23c349971aef99c01c4e4ed2bafdacfd833a34ab061","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-449.5","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-449.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
