Laws § 456.202","heading":"Articles of agreement; signing, acknowledgment, contents.","body":"Sec. 2.\n\nThe articles of agreement of every corporation formed under the provisions of this act shall be signed by the persons associating in the first instance, and acknowledged before some person authorized by the laws of this state to take the acknowledgment of deeds, and shall state:\n\nThe object for which it is organized.\n\nThe amount of land which it owns or proposes to purchase, and the town and county in which the same is situated.\n\nThe amount of its capital stock and the number of shares into which the same shall be divided.\n\nThe name by which such corporation shall be known.\n\nThe names of those who shall constitute the first board of directors, and the name of the first treasurer.\n\nThe names of the subscribers to the articles of association, and the number of shares subscribed by each, toward the required capital.\n\nThe term of duration of such corporation, which shall not exceed 30 years.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 456","Act Act-58-of-1915"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-456-202","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"7443c3b2473f161e0506b5ed19d8067642fb29aab2047a974761845c69b3482c","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-456.201","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-456.203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
