Laws § 458.251","heading":"Protestant Episcopal church; incorporation, procedure; body corporate.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nIt shall be lawful for any 6 or more persons, professing attachment to the Protestant Episcopal church, to execute and acknowledge, before any person authorized to take acknowledgments of deeds, 1 or more duplicate articles of agreement, in writing, whereby they shall agree to organize a church according to the usages of the Protestant Episcopal church, by the name and style set forth in such articles; and upon the execution and acknowledgment and filing thereof, as herein provided, such church shall become a body politic and corporate, by the name set forth in said articles, in accordance with the constitution, canons, doctrine, discipline and worship of the Protestant Episcopal church.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 458","Act Act-40-of-1899"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-458-251","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"f2beff640e83e23a15fd9c03483c100b32627720415dbfb45ba56557c2998b1d","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-458.172","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-458.252"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
