Laws § 46.16e","heading":"Coordinating committee; duties generally.","body":"Sec. 16e.\n\nIf a consolidation proposed under sections 16b and 16c is approved, the coordinating committee shall do all of the following:\n\nPrepare and adopt an interim budget for the consolidated township for the period commencing at the time the consolidation is effective and, if the consolidated township is a charter township, ending December 31 of the following calendar year, or, if the consolidated township is a general law township, ending March 31 or June 30 of the following calendar year, as determined by the coordinating committee.\n\nBefore July 1 of the year of the election, establish salaries for the officers of the consolidated township for the period from the time the consolidation is effective until the beginning of the first fiscal year that begins after 12 months after the effective date of the consolidation.\n\nRecommend individuals for appointment by the consolidated township board to positions on the boards and commissions of the consolidated township.\n\nStudy and make recommendations concerning the coordination, consolidation, repeal, and reenactment of the ordinances, resolutions, rules, and regulations of the former townships for the consolidated township.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 46","Act Act-156-of-1851"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-46-16e","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"e40510752cf7ddbe43fe32365dbfe1068c22b8f53a863cceb98e3f4abd4609b4","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-46.16d","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-46.16f"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
