Laws § 46.53","heading":"Finance committee; powers and duties.","body":"Sec. 3.\n\nThe finance committee, as herein authorized, shall have power, and it is hereby authorized and directed:\n\nTo audit all claims which are chargeable against the county, and no warrant shall be drawn for such claim, nor shall any such claim be paid until it has been audited by such finance committee, and payment thereof authorized by such finance committee.\n\nTo examine the books and accounts of all county officers and departments unless otherwise provided by statute. In making such examination it may require the accounts and vouchers of such officer or department to be presented for examination and audit by the committee.\n\nTo make a report to the board of supervisors in each year of all accounts audited and allowed by said committee, said report to be made at such time as shall be fixed by the board of supervisors.\n\nIt shall also execute and perform all orders of the board of supervisors in any matter within the scope of this act, and not otherwise contrary to the laws of this state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 46","Act Act-182-of-1943"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-46-53","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"aa9d22e04cc088fd9945a769eaa0c5507f1d2b6a0e60fc0a37faa6fafb697769","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-46.52","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-46.54"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
