Laws § 484.201","heading":"License and reports.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nThat it shall not be lawful for any telegraph company, association or individual to transact the business of telegraphing or sending messages by telegraph within this state without first procuring a certificate of authority or license from the state treasurer of this state, and before obtaining such certificate, such company, association or individual, shall furnish the state treasurer of this state annually, in the month of March in each year, with a statement under oath, of the president, treasurer, or superintendent of such company, association or individual which statement shall show:\n\nFirst The name and locality of the company or association.\n\nSecond The amount of its capital stock, and how much is paid up on such stock.\n\nThird The amount of gross receipts on their current business in this state, for the year ending December 31, next preceding such report.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 484","Act Act-123-of-1867"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-484-201","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2f2368f344783bb35476eb7e83ea5b77b4c622c871f65f1b89d2ed757a0dc04e","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-483.120","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-484.202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
