Laws § 485.102","heading":"Corporations to improve on rivers; certificate, contents, acknowledgment, recording, filing.","body":"Sec. 2.\n\nSuch persons, under their hands and seals, shall make a certificate which shall specify:\n\nThe name of the corporation;\n\nThe stream and section of the stream the navigation of which it is proposed to improve;\n\nA statement of the amount of capital stock of such company, and the number of shares into which the capital stock shall be divided;\n\nThe names and places of residence of the stockholders, and the number of shares held by each of them respectively;\n\nThe names of the first directors, being not less than 3 or more than 7;\n\nThe place in this state where their office for the transaction of business is located;\n\nThe term of existence of such corporation, which shall not exceed 30 years; which certificate shall be acknowledged as deeds are required to be acknowledged, and recorded in the office of the clerk of the county in which the office of said company for the transaction of business is located, and a copy thereof filed in the office of the secretary of state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 485","Act Act-149-of-1869"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-485-102","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"8eed512de6db8e554513b25352d0ecc8d6af1d47dea8aa07e7479c36a7453792","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-485.101","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-485.103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
